Default Recommended cat?

What's the best sounding recommended catylatic converter that's aftermarket? Keep it a decent cheap price though. 98 Ram 1500 318 4x4 signature won't show with mobile posting

I love my magnaflow high flow , direct fit. Made my truck sound MUCH more aggressive, and a bit of a performance bump getting rid of the factory Y-Pipe.

I like my Flowmaster direct fit. Had to grind down some of the flange on the driver side to bolt it up properly, wasn't a big deal took 5 minutes. Retail was $158. Small yet noticable gain in power and sound.

I plan on installing a Magnaflow Converter - 99047HM (dual 2" inlets, 3" outlet, front O2 sensor port) when I set my truck up for a 3" single exhaust system. Also plan to use a Dynomax UltraFlo Welded Muffler - 17233 and a 3" tailpipe.

Before my new system, I had a Magnaflow high flow (direct fit) Cat, that I would certainly recommend.

I live in Maine where there's inspections, I may still be in the state when the sticker runs out, so I kinda want to pass. They require the cat. Haha. But no, I can feel my cat slowly start to clog up, losing a bit of power. I know my plenum is bad but it isn't that bad just yet to make me lose that much power. I will be doing that soon too, just want to do the cat before the plenum.

Just keep in mind, a bad plenum will kill your new cat... not so bad will take a little longer, but will clog it up none the less.

+1 on the intake plenum and a new o2 sensor. couple hundred extra for those repairs. they will save your new cat.
