I have a 1999 ram 1500 with the 5.9. New plugs, wires, rotor, cap, battery, alternator, brakes, drums, rotors, u-joints, muffler, all new fluids. So now I can't get the rpms past idle without it bogging out shuddering and dying. This happened while coming to a stop sign. Fuel pressure checks out so it's not fuel. I have exhaust but can't get it revved to tell. I hit the gas and it bogs and dies.could my cat be clogged?

 

How's the plenum? Remove the o2 sensor just before the cat to test if its clogged or not if you've done the plenum already.

 

yea sounds like a plugged converter,i would also try pulling the pre cat o2 sensor,see if it will rev after that.

 

Just curious but will removing the cat affect my aft o2 sensor or mileage?

 

The PCM might whine about cat efficiency. That can be worked around by doing the non-fouler trick. (DIY in the DIY section here for that.)

Little to no effect on fuel economy. (unless it is failing, in which case, you may get more power, and better fuel economy.
