Default Dash swap

I have 97 1500 and want to replace the dash. I know in 99 the dash changed shape from square to rounded. Will the dash from a 2000 bolt up in my 97?

It will more than likely bolt in, trouble is, the cluster communication changed dramatically as well, and you would also have to change your entire electrical system, including the PCM, for things to work properly.

Why do you want to replace your dash? Is it all cracked up? There are replacements available on the web, that are better than the originals. (better materials)

Welcome to DF!

I got mine through a Mopar dealer. I payed a pretty retail penny for it but I am so happy I did. Couldn't stand the F'd up dash that was in it. If your not changing anything but the dash you shouldnt have to mess with anything electrical...

'98 was the introduction of the more rounded dash... or at least my '98 came from the factory with a rounded dash.

Yeah mines a 98 with the rounded dash, same with my dads. My old 95 had the square dash. I once considered the swap for my old ram but its A LOT of work. A guy on here did do it though so it is possible. From my understanding they bolt up the same but the issue is, like HeyYou said, the guages/electrical components.
