Default new tires, speed difference question

alright guys, so I noticed my firestones on my truck are cracked, so i bought this set below off craigslist for $220. what a steal eh?

im looking for new tires, the ones currently on there are 275/60/20, which compared to the ones i have on now, will give me a speed difference of 7mph at 60mph. looking to narrow it down some... how can I do that? would putting 265/50/20 on it work? I don't want it to look too hilarious...

heres how she currently sits:

Get the size tire you want, then just change the VSS drive gear in the t-case.

have you actually tried the rims in the front tires? you'll need wheel spacers because the spindles stick out alot...thats assuming you have a 2wd rig.

Front looks too high to be 2wd, unless he's leveled it out...

go on.... you have my attention.... what would I change it to?

and its a 4WD.

I actually could have bought 17 rims that looked pretty brand new as well, for 50 bucks

definitely loving the look and stance of it.

now, i got underneath the truck to look at where the VSS is, and i found a pretty serious leak somewhere. my transfer case looks like this:

ill clean it up, looks like it might be from the transmission. I caught some oil drips coming from the pan.

the funny thing is... this all started with me changing the brake MC on the truck, in hopes that it would make stopping better. voluntary thing... and then a brake line busted. and then i noticed dryrotted tires. and then this.

but still love this truck!

thanks!

forgot to ask.... how much additional wear and tear will running 33's vs 30's put on the ball joints/steering/shocks? everything is brand new on it, except the shocks for now. I don't want to be changing any of that crap anytime soon. once was plenty!

debating is i should go with 275/55/20 tires at the end of summer, then itll be only 32, and wont eat ball joints as much.

Bah. Your worrying about moot things.
We run the big tires and swap parts when needed.
