Default Overdrive ?

I have a 96 R1500 ext cab 5.2 auto 4x4 ! The trans has about 10,000 miles on it and works good ! I put 4.56s in it and it will be used as my tow vehicle this summer ! I will be mostly pulling our 18ft camper but should i use overdrive when pulling or not even though it has lower gears now ?

Never ever tow in OD!!! Thats how you fry the trans. It will tell you in your owners manual not to do that.

I never use OD when I'm hauling something in the bed. When I use to use my fathers 02 dodge ram 1500, I hauled something even small as a riding mower on a trailer and still didn't use OD.
