Do you have the exposed bolts or the holes on the pully?

If exposed bolts, get a long pry at wedged between them and hold it steady that way. Best option.

If you have the holes, then you're either buying a special spanner wrench, making a spanner wrench (like I did- angle iron with holes drilled and bolts placed through at the right spot) or using a filter wrench/strap wrench to hold the pulley still.

Sorry, couldn't tell you. I had a hole and a slot to adjust it.

that's a good idea, so i assume you just used bolts then? as opposed to a dowel pin or something welded to the angle iron?

Yep, just some small bolts I had laying around and nuts to hold them in place. No welder here, so that wasn't an option.

At the shop today i welded together a 36mm wrench with a 3/4 wide grip so i'd have a nice bite on this nut. drilled a couple holes in a piece of angle iron and grabbed a couple of 1/4" grade 8 bolts. got home situated my angle iron to keep the water pump from spinning, put the wrench on, hit it with a hammer and BAM! sheared both bolts and absolutely no effect on this stupid clutch nut. i'm getting a little flustered at this point. i'm still hoping to have it off before dark.
Do you gentlemen have any other ideas to throw at this thing?

Victory! Alright method used. i put the broken strip of rubber from the strap wrench on then wound a ratchet strap around it a couple of times, tied off the remainder of the ratchet strap to the frame. wrenched on the nut a little to get everything tight with the strap. then put the homemade 36mm on it and hit the wrench handle with a 2lb sledge. Beat it till it comes

Got all the rest of the goodies off with very little problem used the same hold method on the harmonic to get that 1 1/4 bolt off.
Looking at the timing cover gasket there was a blow out around the passenger side return coolant port, makes sense that it'd be leaking there. Also there are a lot of imperfections around the holes, is that a forging flaw or corrosion?
Not sure about the new chain set up went with 4* advance i got the keys to line up and new hardware on without rotating anything. Barely had to struggle to get the old set off they didn't look to bad (chain slack wise) but i replaced anyway (around 140k on the truck)
I can't rig up anything on my current brain power to get the crank seal out of the cover. Any ideas for that? i was going to use the old crack sprocket to pull it through but couldn't find a way to get that to work. probably end up getting a kit from az if no one comes up with something cooler lol.
don't know if anyone is still following this thread or not so i suppose it's just a reference for me now seeing as to i may be doing this to at least two other trucks in the next couple years.
