Default Transfer Case saying goodbye?

Well I'll tell y'all of what could have led to this so here we go...

Back in September of 2013, it recently rained and I had the bright idea to drive down to the river bottom by my house. Now the soil where I live at has a high consistency of clay so you pretty much sink in and get the treads on your tire clogged. I went down in 4WD and didn't have much problem with the first obstetrical of mud since I still had momentum from going down the hill. After slowing down to make a turn, that's when I realized I was over my head. I had my RPMs around 4500-5000 just to move 1 foot forwards, but I kept an eye on engine temp. Long story short, I made it out but knew that it would come back to bite me. Fast forward two months and I noticed that there was transmission fluid on the bottom of the transfer case. Now nothing sounded or acted different and 4WD still worked so it would put towards the bottom of the things that need to be fixed list. Today, I opened the fill spout on the transfer case thinking that it would need fluid after leaking for 9 months, but to my surprise it was fine. I desided to wipe down the transfer case to see if it will leak more but that is when I found this...

My question is, am I looking at a new transfer case or can this last for a while longer?

Pretty much what HeyYou said... Could blow tomorrow or it may never blow. If you want to change it now its your choice.

You've got nothing to worry about. Those are casting cracks that I have seen in many aluminum transfer case housings. So you can run the thing til it blows.
