Default Loud pop when turning the steering wheel.

Hey guys, my truck has developed a well felt and loud series of thuds that ends with a loud *** pop when turning my wheel to the left. Ball joints have recently been replaced and packed with grease and U-joints were replaced not too long ago. I also have a very loud scraping sound when turning or going around a curve at anywhere from 10-25 MPH. I do know that my pass. side rotor is pretty ate up. Could all of this be related??

Check your wheel bearings closely and the other components of your front suspension - inner and outer tie rod ends, track bar, etc.

Okay will do. Could it be bushings? Because pretty much all of my bushings on the front end are blown. And by the way, the passenger side bearing went out a couple of years ago and was replaced.

Could be sway bar bushings. Check those too, however, hub (wheel) bearing assemblies are some of the 1st items to check on a high mileage 2nd gen truck. Jack the truck up in the front, put one hand on top of the wheel and the other hand on the bottom of the wheel - alternately push/pull each hand - if you feel any play in the wheel, replace the hub bearing assembly.

Even if the hub bearing has recently been changed on the passenger side, check it anyway. If the hub bearing assembly was not torqued properly or was of poor quality, it could need changing again.

I had a bad track bar but only had a pop at low speeds when turning after the wheel was straight.

Your symptoms sound like classic wheel bearing.

As Atomic Dog said. These wheel assemblies are not known for there longevity.

Please, please check those hub bearings! When they fail completely, the results can be very ugly and costly.

Oh I know!! The passenger side went out on me a couple years ago and it was scary as hell! Lol And if all of you are saying the wheel bearing I guess I will check them. Not too long ago I had a bad groan and rub at low speeds and especially when turning. It might actually be my driver side bearing.

Okay I will check both sides.
