Differential Fluid Change questions
I just did my fluid change and found big chunks of metal as well. but it was running fine no squeal clunk grind or anything. was yours sounding/feeling fine too? there was a ridiculous amount of rtv on my rear so i was thinking maybe someone did the repair prior but didnt get all the broken metal chunks out. Wishful thinking maybe.
Ahh the 'ol terrible limited slip clutch pack design strikes again....
Some people get lucky and the clutch pieces fall to the bottom and stay there until you clean them out. Others aren't so lucky. If you've got pieces in there, I don't recommend waiting to fix it. A $100 diy clutch pack rebuilt could turn in to big bucks fast.

$1200?
Seriously?
You are installing it yourself right?
I think your getting screwed.
A used rear differential is only a couple hundred bucks or so.
Takes a couple hours to swap with hand tools and a floor jack.

Which piece(s) does it look like? This is only one side of the clutch pack too btw.
I just responded to your thread with a link that does a good job showing the process with pictures to get to the clutch pack. I can't say for sure if there's an easier way to do it without pulling the carrier.
