Default Differential Fluid Change questions

getting ready to do a differential fluid change on the truck in my signature. I have a couple questions, it has a Chrysler 9.25 rear end with 3.55 gears. is 80w90 the right fluid to use? Also, the build sheet says it has an "anti-spin" differential. Does that mean I have to add friction modifier to it? one more thing, should I use rtv or a rubber gasket?

80w90 with the friction modifier already in there will work just fine. If you do a lot of towing, the 70w140 synthetic (with the modifier) is recommended.

Just use RTV. It works fine. Put a bead on there, let it 'skin up' a bit, (five minutes or so) then put the cover on.

Not positive on the fluid weight, but I know its pretty heavy. Yes you need to add the additive in there or else say goodbye to you LSD. I just use RTV for my diff and have no troubles at all. its cheap and easy and quick!

darn, heyyou edged me in a response

red or black, whichever flavor you like. I used black IIRC. But it should say on the package which color is best for what application.

UPDATE: well my truck's rear end is shot, we opened it up and there was giant chunks of metal from the ring gear and clutches at the bottom. So we're putting in an axle from a truck with 80,000 miles on it. To the tune of $1,200. Man this sucks.
