cant find the ambient air temperature sensor

That part has nothing to do with the engine and the CEL.

You can find that on the inside of the grill just below the hood.

Could it possibly be the coolant temp sensor that needs to be changed ?. Try disconnecting the battery for a while to clear the code, then see if it comes back after a while.

use a scanner to clear the code, might be left over from before replacement

Volt meter. You can get a cheap one for less than 10 bucks, at various department stores. (target, wal-mart, meijers, etc.)

Most auto parts stores also have a cheap one on the shelf, along with RadioShack, etc.
