Grinding.

So I have a 98 1500 sport. 5.2 5 speed. Grinds going into second only. Doesnt matter if its up or down shifting, going into 2nd it grinds. Syncros gone or is there something else?

First, change your fluid for the proper stuff for your particular trans. Check the old fluid for metal. If that doesn't fix it, you probably are due for throwing some parts at it.
