carbed magnum motor
Ive got my parts together to convert my motor over to a carb, my ecm had more issues than I knew what to do with and I needed injectors and a plenum plate fix so I just decided to swap it over. I ordered a edelbrock rpm air gap intake and performer avs 600 manual choke carb. I already had this carb and it has vacuum secondaries, where do I go with the vacuum lines? also for a distributor, on a vacuum advance, where do I go with that vacuum line?
And as for a cam, how big can I go on stock valve springs?

.480 lift on stock springs.
I'm still going to say you're going backwards in technology and I think it is no a smart move. I'd get a new/used ECM and injectors and plenum plate and fix your issues. Going with a carb just doesn't compute.

What do you know that crane/comp doesnt? Smallest cam they offer requires new valve springs at a .434/.458 lift? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cr...iew/make/dodge
Yeah, I got an awesome deal on a motor that has 12k on it out of a wrecked truck. But my ECM is screwed up and the guy kept his injectors that were in it for his other truck. I couldn't pas up the deal so I'm just gonna throw this together for now and when I get outta college it'll get a bad **** put in it, whether it's a big block swap or a mean little small block I'm not sure yet. Starting school in a month kinda put a damper on my plans for it.
I was just exploring my options and when that deal on a procharger came up I just asked about it and what it would take to do it and what these motors could really handle stock.

Even though you have a manual tranny you still need your TPS to tell the computer how much the throttle is opened or closed. And I'm sure there are other issues that will come up without the throttle body there. For the price of that carb you could have bought a reman ECM and for the price of the intake injectors.
But it is your truck so do with it as you will. But there isn't many of us who have experience or knowledge to help you. I know there is one other forum member who has done the carb swap. If I remember his name I'll post it for you.
