Default Underdrive pulleys

Anyone have any thoughts on using underdrive pulley set-up?
I would be putting it on a 97 4WD w/360 if it makes any difference
on your overall comments. I have looked at a 2 pulley set-up and a 3.
Does the water pump pulley reduce flow? I do a fair amount of plowing
so I am not sure that would be such a good idea if it does.

They're not worth it. They've never been worth it for any vehicle in my opinion. Unless your goal is the fastest time in the 1/4 mile, where you need to squeeze every last horse from the motor, you're better off going with something else that will make more of a difference. A K&N FIPK or a Fastman TB or a nice set of headers would be a better buy. Just my opinion though.

BTW, if you do a fair amount of plowing, it would be the Alternator that I'd be worried about. Not the water pump. At least that's what always gives me a headache during plowing season.

You are without a doubt correct about the alternator, was not even thinking about that, and I too have had those woes in years gone by with other trucks. I think I would agree with your opinion on the pulleys, just wanted to see if anyone has used them and to what success.
