Truck keeps dying
Heres the story, my truck was running fine I decided to change my coolant temp sensor and actually ended up frying my computer in the process, (long story) so I replaced my computer with one from the same year with same motor/trans and had to change my wires because I noticed wire for cyl. #7 had melted to the manifold and done burnt to the white insulator, so I also changed out that spark plug too and my distributor cap/rotor button cause it needed it. Now my truck is running again but now it runs kinda rough it sometimes hesitates on take off and skips constantly skips around 55mph and when i rev it up even to just about 1500 rpms when I let off the gas it bogs down and dies everytime. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks
i dont want act like a know it all but this might help. V8. Mopar dist cap wiring
My dad made this saying about small and big block dist cap wireing. To reduce wiring confuseion. “the small block has the dist in the wrong place, in the back of the engine. BUT the shaft rotates the right way clockwise. The big block has the dist in the right place, in the front of the engine BUT the shaft rotates the wrong direction counterclockwise. Both wire #5 and #7 on both ALL ways have #5 before #7 on the cap AND block. And most / some stock V8s have the fireing order cast in to the intake manifold.
