Default Water pump question

Bought a new water pump today, tough one, from advance, and noticed that the bypass port isn't threaded for the bypass metal hose, shouldn't it be?

Some are just "press in" with a little hook on the metal hose to go behind a bolt on the timing cover. I used the new orings but goobed it up with Black RTV also. No problems from it in the few thousand miles Ive been able to put on the truck in the last year.

The hole for the bypass that goes to the intake should be threaded. (and probably already has the fitting in it.) The one for the heater hose just sticks in there, like Rescue35 said.
