Angry Tuning a stroked magnum 408

I'm having issues with intermitted idle fluctuations that almost kill the engine, this happens when braking or slowing down, city driving. FlyinRyan is pulling his hair out trying to help me tune this engine, has anyone had a similar issue??

Who is FlyinRyan?

SCT Tuners are often regarded as the best (most popular) for 2nd Gen Rams....

FlyinRyan is like Sean he is another tuner that uses the SCT tuners. He is located down in FL and seems to be a pretty knowledgeable guy about tuning our engines.

I would look for things that are not affected by the tuner. Is your brake booster leaking? A vacuum leak somewhere could cause your problems. I take it you have gotten over the fact that you need a tuner to run your stroker? I hope you can figure out your issues. Hopefully at the end of the month I will be ordering the pars to finish off my 408 and then can get my engine running too.

Too tight a torque converter can possibly cause this issue, too. The 408 is producing a lot more torque than stock.

I had to drill the plug out of the TB and turn the idle screw up on mine.

No body could help me either when mine was doing that.

My 408 would never idle but it ran great at WOT, I gave up.

I'm carbed now and it's never run better.

You guys aren't making me real happy here. I hope I can get mine to run right when the time comes.

Data logging, including a wideband O2 sensor are pretty much a requirement here to get things to run as they should.

Yep just more money that I have to spend. O'well it's just money and once my divorce is done I'll be the only one telling me what I can spend it on.

The SCT X3 has a data logging feature built in. The wideband kit from glowshift has a data output . Just need to buy the 10 dollar cable and the 02 kit (currently 189$) if you have the X3.
