99 1500 shuts down after 20-30 minutes then won't restart for hours
HeyYou, I like that coil trick. I had already replaced the coil though last night when I first got no spark after it had just died. It fooled me too because as soon as I swapped the coil it fired right up! But then it died 15 minutes later after I let idle for a bit.
I've just finished swapping out the crank sensor and the cam sensor (pick-up coil as the parts store lists it). Ok, that crank sensor is a royal pain!. Anyway, the truck has been idling for 1-1/2 hrs. now. I'm going to tentively call it fixed ??!! Although I may let it idle for 4 hrs. and then drive it in circles in front of my house for another 2hrs. before I'm really sure. (real tired of getting stuck!)
HeyYou, Twmays, I appreciate all the help and the good advice. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
I'm sure I'll see ya around on another thread becasue you know there's always something to fix!

Yeah man...just watching the gas gauge go down...down...down..! OMG! I'll take the hit though cuz I've been stuck on the side of the road 4 times over the last 3 days! Hey, at least the gauge works now since I jumped the gun early on during this fiasco and replaced the fuel pump assembly!
