Default Speedometer acts crazy sometimes

About 4 months ago I pulled a load that probably pushed my trucks pulling strength to the gills, and the heaviest load I've ever pulled with my truck, my speedometer has had issues ever since. Its fine sometimes and then sometimes it goes crazy bouncing between 25-60 and most time when it starts bouncing it will just go to 0 and not move for a few miles then I look down and its working right again. Doesn't do it everytime I drive just randomly. My abs light isn't on. I was thinking this would be my output speed sensor on the driver's side of the trannsmission, is this the one causing the problems? Also my OD doesn't light up or work at all and it was when I pulled that load because I used it. Any suggestions??

VSS will be in the tailshaft housing of the trans then. It's actually gear driven off the output shaft of the trans. Could be either gears stripping out, poor connection at the connector on the sensor, or, the VSS itself could be going bad. Not like it doesn't have an excuse. Or, might be the cluster for that matter...... Is the computer whining about anything? (any codes?)
