99 ram 1500 lifted 4x4 with 5.9. Yesterday while coming back from fishing out of no where my engine started making this loud clanging noise kinda like a rod is knocking now. All gauges check out fine. Oil level and other fluids are good. No other problems leading up to this. Got approx 180,000 on it. Anybody have any insight thanks in advance.

 

Take off the serpentine belt, start the engine. Is the noise gone? (don't run it very long that way.)
