Default Temp senser ?

My temp sender for the gauge which is the gray one in the intake is almost broke and if you move it the gauge doesn't work but what is the difference between it and the other black one in the intake ?

One measures the air temp in the engine and the other measures the coolent temp in the engine.

On his truck, he has two coolant temp sensors, a one-wire for the gauge in the dash, and a two-wire for the PCM. In 98, a lot changed, and there is only one coolant temp sensor.
