Default PCM programed for a different engine?

can it be done? i have a call into the dealer but they have not responded and i'm guessing they wont

the reason i ask is i have the 99 sport with the 4bt in it, if at all possiable i would like to flash it over to a 98-98.5 diesel truck pcm to eliminate the cam sensor/ASD relay issues i have, the pin outs are the same between the two harnesses

i have my fingers crossed on this, i work for john deere and all of our control units are the same for all engines and can be programmed for any engine as long as the harness fits

Default

well.... maby i wont need the reprogram if this works....

after thinking a bit, with a diesel program/ecm i will have to change my custom damper for a factory one if i did that, i have been through multipal relay wirings and resistors tying to get this cam sensor and ASD relay to play nice, but its been nothing but a pain

i studied some more theroies of operation and lots of forum posts, and built this, its an electronic Hella flasher unit hooked to a relay, beench test works great, so i am going to install inplace of the cam sensor and see if it will do the trick
