Default Driving issues

This issue has been happening lately: I'll set my cruise control on and head down the interstate, and my truck will jump up in rmp's by about 200 or so at random or over a bump( say going over a bridge). Is it something in my transmission or something with my cruise?

Something to think about: 200RPM or so just happens to be the usual difference seen when the torque converter goes from unlocked to locked, or vice versa.

If the engine load isn't changing enough to convince the PCM to lock/unlock the converter, it's a good time to check the wiring harness to see if you might be losing the lock signal. Were it mine to do, I'd plumb in some wiring from the transmission end into the cab, hook a very small light bulb to it, and go for a spin. If the lamp is illuminated (converter locked) but then goes off just as the RPM jumps, you've found the cause of the RPM change. Then it's just a matter of finding out why the signal comes and goes.

I was thinking maybe something was wrong with my TQ, or it had to do something with it. When I get sometime here( with college) I'll go investigate my wiring. Is this issue going to damage or hurt anything?
