Default Cylinder Head Question

Getting ready to install heads and noticed a little surface rust on the sealing surface. Do I need to gently remove that before buttoning her up?

Thanks Adobe! Also I want to check valve clearance. Will I be able to reuse the head gaskets or buy replacements? These are new ones.

Replace. You usually have to sacrifice two or three sets minimum to appease the engine gods, lol.

Yes, please make sure that the block and head surfaces are clean. Be sure to use a new head gasket and be sure to torque it to spec using the appropriate alternating bolt pattern as documented in the service manual.
