I dont know.... there won't be a load on it, and the PCM won't see vehicle speed increasing.... may confuse the snot out of it. Of course, yours has a mechanical governor, so, it may not matter. Can't hurt to try it I suppose, but, not sure if you will be able to tell when it shifts.

i will have to test it a little later tonight, i guess i will let you know what it does. Also i dont know if this will help with diagnosing any problems but my speedometer fluctuated on accuracy somtime it would read correctly then time it would read 10-20mph off. Might not have anything to do with any of my other problems installed an after market.

I think the tailshaft housing on the 2wd trans is cast as part of the rest of the housing, so, no. Won't work.

So i started my hunt for a junkyard transmission, not to necessarily swap into the truck but possibly use for hard parts. Im getting ready to rebuild this transmission and i have a feeling that some hard parts have been damaged. What vehicles can i find this tranny in. I know i can find it in rams with v8s from 94-95, are there any other vehicles, preferably with 4x4 like dekotas and cherokees?

Dakotas may have it, if they have the V-8, Cherokees as well. Since yours if 4x4, vans and such won't work..... (at least, not for the output shaft, everything else though.)

Where ya at? I have a 46RH sitting in the barn that I have no use for.
