Default Crank sensor grommet trouble!

Hello all,
So, I've sought advice from this site for years, but never had to post a question. Today I pulled out my old crank sensor to replace it, and noticed the rubber grommet holding it in was pushed halfway in the opening. I tried to snag it out, unsuccessfully, and the GD thing fell into the opening. Cannot for the life of me get to it, or feel where it may be in there.
What the hell do I do!? Do I 1...get a new grommet, start it, and hope for the best? Or 2...am I spending a ton of time pulling the engine apart? If 2, where do I start?

Pull the starter motor, and then take off the inspection plate, the grommet will probably just fall out at that point. (disconnect the battery.....)

Does it matter that my starter is on driver side?

That's where its supposed to be. But, it has to come off to get the inspection plate off.

+1 to hey you, the only thing the grommet could be sitting on is the torque converter. If its not sitting in the bottom of the bellhousing then use a large screwdriver to turn the TQ a little and it should fall right out,
