Default clanking sound

Ok I've got a '99 Ram 1500 5.2L 4x4...2 years ago it developed a clanking sound when moving forward or reverse. Auto shop said it was the rear U-joint. Well the U-joint eventually went bad..along with a list of other things all at the same time. Well everything has been fixed after a long time sitting dormant. Fixed it today, it cranked right up but when we drove down the road the damn clanking sound is still there! We've looked and looked and can't see what the hell it is. It's coming from the front but we can't figure it out. If anyone has or has had this problem or has any ideas or input then please hit me up! Thanks.

Welcome to DF! Going to move this to the second gen tech section for ya.

Is your front driveshaft turning while in 2wd?

I have no idea. There is no front drive shaft connected at the moment.

Check fluid level in the t-case then. That's where I would start. See if you can't isolate where the noise is coming from.
