95 ram 1500 5.2 4x4 no start
Hi ive recently replaced the fuel pump assembly and filler tube after a no start and what i thought to be a no fuel situation. After replacing it did start but ran real crappy till it warmed up and it restarted right away but went out this am and no start.I did the koko to access the codes and came up with a 355 with the blinking check engine light.I cant seem to find what this code means.Anybody ?
Hi, I believe you are reading a code "12" as a code "3",to my knowledge there is no code "3" or "355", a code "12" would be 1 blink-pause-2 blinks doing the koko thing. A code 55 indicates "end of message code", a code "12" indicates "problem with battery connection" which could have set if you disconnected your battery to install the fuel pump. If you have fuel pressure, [there should be a test valve on the drivers side fuel rail, looks like a tire air fitting, you should also hear the pump run for a few seconds with the key in run position],you should check for spark. My truck was doing this and I found a burnt up rotor in the distributer cap.
Did you just get gas before this happened?Quite a few stations have been selling bad gas lately from what I have been hearing. Was this an immediate problem or gradually coming on?

when trying to figure out a running/starting problem remember a motor needs 3 basic things
Fuel
Compression
Spark
since u say u have fuel, check the plugs and do a compression test

Hi guys and thanx for the reply.Iturned out to be the coil it was arcing all over the place changed out and starts and runs great but if i let off the pedal quick it stalls out but if the idle comes down slow its drops down like its going to stall and returns right back to a nice smooth idle.Seems like since the pump replacement different things are just going out .Thanx Jim
