Default New member looking for some 46re info.

Hello all, been turning Google and the forum upside down looking for some info.
I have a 1997 dodge ram 5.9 46re 4x4. Trans started slipping bad so I picked up a 2001 46re from a scrapper that said it had 40k on a rebuild.
A friend of mine owns a muffler/mechanic shop the did the transmission swap but are not really a transmission shop. They had to swap over my transfer case from the 1997 to the 2001 trans. When first starting the truck the OD light is off and everything works fine for like 5 minutes. Then the OD light comes on stays on and will not go off. Trans does not slip.
Am I correct in assuming that I need the internal wiring harness and governor solenoid/ temp sender from a 1997? Will this fix my issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated as my truck has been out of commission for a while and I would like to get it back on the road running proper.
Thank you in advance.
John

I think there is a mounting clip you need as well, (pressure sensor) but, essentially, you are spot on.

Welcome to DF!
