Default tranny swap questions

So I have a 2000 dodge 2500 and I want to do a tranny swap I hate the nv4500 I want an eaton fuller 8ll. I ran that tranny for years in a 800 Mack coal bucket and I want it in my dodge but I wanna keep my 4wd. i would like to know everyone's opinions on The right transfer case and the best clutch and in know that theirs an adapter for mounting the TC to the tranny but unable to find one. Also all the right gears for the best low and high for good towing abilities and highway speeds any know hows knowledge would be helpful...

That is a pretty serious trans, and swapping it in is going to be an interesting ordeal. May have to run a divorced t-case..... And then you will get to do custom driveshafts, and a host of other tweaks to get it to fit/work. (I am not sure it will even fit in the available space.....)

Think an easier swap would be to just put one of the newer 6 speeds in there.....

By 6 speed you mean the NC 5600 or the ge right. Is really rather not actually and I know it can be done with the eaton fuller I've seen the 6 speeds the 8 and the 10 speed Eaton's in the dodges and they all made it work pretty dam good. Modifying the body and running the air compressor is what I imagine will be the hardest part.

If you have the skills to do it, go for it. Would love to see documentation of the process. If you make it look easy enough, others may want to do it as well.
