My best guess it followed the electronics from my old transmission to the new(used) one. I have an intermittent change in gears from 1st to 2nd and back to 1st. Sometimes with very light throttle the truck will surge forward and back and keeping a light throttle it will continue. I bought some WalMart-ATF4 this afternoon with the intent of swapping the governor pressure solenoid from my 99 46re electronics into my 2000 46re electronics. I am really hoping they are compatible.

Any way here are the pictures of the brackets used in both designs. As you know the flat bracket is the 96-1999 design that uses the round metal governor pressure sensor and metal governor pressure solenoid. The governor pressure sensor is held in place with a clip on the inside of the housing. The bracket with the "L" design holds the black plastic governor pressure sensor and the metal governor pressure solenoid. The plastic governor pressure sensor is held in place by the bracket.

I do not know this to be true but I believe the governor pressure solenoid is the same part number for 1996-2000+.

I almost took that at face value and purchased another $60-70.00 of AutoZone ATF-4. Walmart SuperTech is only $4.25 a quart which at 8 quarts is just $35.00.
Thank you
