Default Please help with dual exhaust setup

It’s an ’01 RAM with a stock 5.9L engine, and Edelbrock shorty headers & K&N FIPK for boltons.

I have 2 Flowmaster Super40 (2½” center in/out) mufflers, and would like to install a dual exhaust setup at a local muffler shop using an H-Pipe and tailpipes exiting just ahead of the rear tires. No cats will be used.

Can I do this without losing low end torque? If so, what size ID of pipe would be best (Please remember that the header collectors are 2½”).

This is a low-tech diagram:

Default RE: Please help with dual exhaust setup

I'm not sure what i'd recommend on exhaust sizing but from my experience, a 3" single in/2.5" dual out lost low end torque. a single 3" in/2.25" dual brought low end torque back.

here is a link that may help though...

Also if you take your cats. off i have heard that its gonna make the check engine light come on. You can buy simulators for it, or just get a hi-flow cat.
