Default wheel/tirs upgrade help 1996 V10

I purchased a 1996 2500 xlt Laramie excab 2wd and would love to upgrade wheel tires to give it a better stance and it has the older style running board which is solid full length would like tubular or just step..Its a low mile truck but would like to make it modern looking but not to expensive to upgrade. one more question, being 2 wheel drive it sits low would airbags help? apologize for the rookie questions
Any thoughts would be great

Of course they would. They are basically designed to raise the truck up a bit. (ok, technically, they are designed to level the truck when heavily loaded..... but, without the load.... you get the idea. )

There are cheaper alternatives though...... I *think* they make leveling kits for the 2wd trucks...... and larger blocks can be fitted out back. Give you a couple inches anyway. Don't get too radical though, I think you can only do about 2" or so up front, before you need to start upgrading other things.

Hell Bent Steel for lift.

Tires? That can get tricky. I am going to guess that you likely have 3.55 gears in your truck, in which case, the largest I would go would be 33" tires. Anything larger, and you will need more lift, and lower gears.

If you have 16" wheels, that would be 285/75/16.

There really isn't much out there for lifting the 2wd's....... I would suggest diesel springs.... but, as you have a V-10 in there already, don't think that would get you much. (if anything.) Other alternative would be a body lift......
