Hard to say if there's going to be a difference. It depends on how long they've been on there and how much the paint has faded. You could always take it to a body shop and have them blend that area.
As far as removal, a hair dryer should work. Depends on how strong the glue was on the decal. WD-40 may also help. Just keep the hair dryer away from it

Ok,i Do stripes and Decals for a living.... use a heat gun ,on high...heat the WHOLE decal then use your fingernail to lift an edge then SLWOLY and evenly pullit back int eh direction you are going,not straight out.... any glue, cna be cleaned with goo Gone or gasoline to be truthfull... after that, to fix any dullness or scratches, buff it lightly..
if you cant or arre scared ,go to yourlocla bodyshop, find the painter and offer him $20 to buff the area around your decals old spot to make it even.... TADA
