Default 8 Foot box on a 6.5 foot box frame ?????

Ok I got this 8 foot box with dually fenders. I have a 6 foot box. Here is my question can the bigger box be cut down to fit a 6 foot is it possible? The dually fenders are fixable the sheet metal is in good condition very little rust I can fab what ever no biggie. What ever ideas would be great to here. Can it be done or am I wasting my time and what money that I have into it. Thank you all in advance.

Yea, it can be done, but why go through all of that work to make it fit your truck ?. Why not just find a 6 foot box for your truck ?, it would be a bolt on and your done.

You would have to cut up, and splice the box back together. Paying attention to where mounts and such were. It would be a major pain..... Probably easier, and maybe even cheaper, just to patch up the bed that's on there.

Man I must of had a major brain fartall I was focused on was cutting down the bed. I didn't even think of that. The outer skin is the part that shot. I am feeling like dumb *** for not thinking of that I am going to pull the dually fenders off repair them make a few bucks off of them and put them into the truck. Last winter I was able to pick up a 4 door cab but never got to do the swap. I am going to slice and dice the bed to save space and after plow season get to work on it. Last fall I did the Dana 60 70 swap really happy I did that because I was going through 1 to 2 axles shafts in a season even a 3rd two seasons ago. That got to be a real pain I even had to make a about a 240 mile round trip for one. Up here they were and are becoming hard to find then being down and losing income I hated that. last season I had more miles/hrs and not a single issue and the axles are 4.11 with a posi in the rear. This helped in pissing my sons and there friends off even more because I keep it in 2 wheel most of the time and guess who is the one that pulls out everybody out. I do have the under powered 5.2 but it still is going under powered strong for 196,938 miles and has not been opened up yet my fingers are crossed while typing.

LOLOLOL. There isn't much more soul satisfying than pissing off the younger crowd.
