Default Gear Lube

I am gonna check and change my gear lube tomorrow, so i would love to know whats the best kind to put in it. Please help me out.

I 2nd the red line... get 75w90. or the 75w90ns for a posi rear end.

If you can't find Red Line - I used Mobil 1 75W 90. If you have a limited slip rear end, Auto Zone has some "friction additive" in a tube (I can't remember the name of it) that is on the shelf next to the gear lube. I heard you didn't need it with Mobil 1, but I put a tube in anyway. You will also need some red gasket sealer to form a new gasket on the rearend covers. Don't waste your time looking for a gasket like I did....there isn't one. Just use red gasket sealer.

K&N Filter, Flowmaster 40 w/dual 2 1/4 outs
Fastman 50mm Throttle Body
Mobil 1 Synthetic Oils
Problems: Many! 2 Tranny Rebuilds 40,000 & 60000
Brake Rotors, o2 sensor, Charcoal canister, TPS, Axle Seal, CV Jo
next time your tranny needs work, go to www.apsprecision.com and check out their stuff. they go from mild to wild on their tranny rebuilds...

I put AMSoil 75w90 for LS rear-ends in mine. Seems to be great so far, 'course my friction clutches are blown up so my rear isn't quite as LS as it should be (gotta get that stuff from randy's one of these days, just don't want to waste the fresh fluid that's in there).

Hey Steve00, I still have 35,000 miles on the 6 yr 100,000 powertrain warranty I got when I bought the truck new after 9-11. I figure Dodge will get to rebuild it one more time at least. I would like to look into a shift kit, but I don't want to void the warranty. I put a cooler on it, maybe that will help. Thanks for the link!
