Default Differential Details

Before I even ask this question I did some searches but can't find exactly what I need, or I find varying information. I'm trying to determine what rear differential is in my truck so I can upgrade it. I have a 99 Laramie 4X2 with a 5.2L. I know the diff is an open diff. But what I cannot determine by reading and searching is: What is the axle spline count (28, 30, 31, ??), does it use C-Clips for the axles, is a Dana 44 the same thing as a Corporate 9.25?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You have a 1/2 ton truck and so the rear axle is a Chrysler 9.25". So that is what you would search for.

The axle spline count is 31 and it is a c-clip type axle.

Nope. If you had a 4x4 you'd have a Dana 44 in the front, but they never went in the rear on these trucks.
