Default U Joints or Wheel Bearings?

I have a 97 dodge ram ext. cab 5.9L, today I was driving down the e way and had the cruise at 70mph, when I started to go around curves or even slightly turn the steering wheel I can hear something that sounds almost like a fast pace knocking sound and can some what feel it at my feet in the floor board. Its only when I give the wheel a turn in either direction as soon as you straighten it back out the noise disappears. I'm guessing it is maybe the front axle u joints going bad or maybe even possibly the wheel bearings. But I know normally when a wheel bearing goes bad it sounds like more of a howl, and would make that howl noise if you were going straight or not. Any ideas??

I would check the wheel bearings first, especially if there original with lots of miles on them.

Need to check them both - it could be either or a combination of the two.

It's fairly straight forward. You need to get underneath your truck and see what is loose/rattling. Takes 10 minutes max

When you inspect it , don't overlook the control arm bushings , swaybar frame bushings , endlinks or shock bushings .
