2002 2500 5.9l gas tranny
I've been trying to research whether my 2002 2500 with the 5.9l gas, with 90k, has one of the bad trannys in it or not. Haven't found very much on 2002 2500's. I have been told that 94-01 rams had all the bad ones, but the trannys after that, are pretty much luck of the draw. My friend had a 98 ram 1500 with the 5.9l gas, and he pulled his sprint car trailer, and did other hauling with it, and ran it kinda hard. Its tranny lasted about 161k. Mine seems to shift just fine, no matter if you're getting on it, or taking it easy. If anyone has any info for me, i'd appreciate it.

You have a 46re. Pretty much the same as every 1500 and 2500 v8 auto trans since they changed to electric in 97.
Learn how to use the overdrive on/off and your trans will live a long time if you take care of it.
