Default Catalytic converter

I have 2001 dodge ram 1500 sport 5.9 without California emissions. I was looking to replace my CAT setup with a direct fit one from Magnaflow. More specifically the Magnaflow 23285 direct fit one. You can find it on amazon at
Amazon.com: Magnaflow 23285 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter (Non CARB compliant): Automotive Amazon.com: Magnaflow 23285 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter (Non CARB compliant): Automotive
.

Is there a difference between the 2000 dodge ram sport 5.9 and the 2001 year models? This CAT says it will fit a 2000 and not a 2001. Any assistance in the manner would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone has a better direct fit one like this with the bungs already installed That would be great too. I do not have a welder so was hoping to find something I can just bolt right on.

Thanks.

According to Magnaflow website it fits both 2000 and 2001.
I went with a 3" in/out magnaflow cat model 99009HM. Would be a great time to cut off the restrictive factory muffler and replace with a high flow model. Open it up to 3" from the cat back to the tail pipe. You'll need to do some welding tho

I checked out the website again but I keep seeing that it only fits up to 2000 with the 5.9 and up to 2001 with the 5.2. If you are finding something different can you please provide a link.

If I had a welder it would make things much easier. If I cant find one I will just take it up to the muffler place and let them do the work.

Thanks again.

So far as I know, there is zero difference between the parts for the 5.2, or the 5.9. Both engines use the same exhaust manifolds......
