Hi I have a 95 ram and its got the typical michgan dodge rust I was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas and or pics on ways to fix fender rust and rocker panel rust at home thanks!
what do you mean fix... best options is to just replace them, but if you looking to just stop the rust, then you can try to sand it off and put some rust fix they sell in a can on it. if its deeper than the surface then you can only really cut it off or replace it. you can try to wire wheel it off and scrub it down with some water and baking soda. rust needs oxygen to grow, and baking soda gets rid of oxygen, which is why it is used for acid killing and grease fires. then maybe use the rust fix stuff and coat it with some paint.
What i did was cut out and clean up the rust on my truck, fill it in with great stuff insulation in a can, sand that off, then put bond on top of that and looks brand new and paint of course.
My brother did that to his old ford plow truck. Used up 2 whole cans of greatstuff and a can of black rattle can. Looked good driving past it at night.
