Hey there everyone. yesterday morning I was going down the interstate when I heard a loud pop and a terrible dragging noise under the truck. I slowed down and pulled over but when I went put the truck into park it grinded really loud and then winded down but the truck wouldn't go into park so I had my friend hold the brake and I looked under the truck and the rear drive shaft was on the ground the u joint was broke. so I pulled it off and tried to put the truck in 4wd and go home but it wouldn't engage and made a grinding noise and wouldn't move it just revved up. sorry if this is confusing but haven't got a chance to look at the truck and im busy now i just wanted to know if you guys had any ideas thanks
can you get the tranny into neutral? or it wont move fro drive at all? even if it was in drive the t-case is designed to where you can shift into 4hi with it in gear and under i think 55mph so you would think it would engage. sounds like the tranny is stuck in between gears or something.
Update had the truck towed home wen I turned the truck on the tac says I'm running 25mph but the trucks not moving any more ideas or help guys? The truck just won't move
not to sound like a smart *** but do you have the truck in drive still....cause if so your output shaft would still be spinning. therefore putting it in 4wd would be a little more difficult.
