Default Skyjacker Adj Track Bar and Drop Bracket

Hey All,

Quick question with a bit of back story. I just finished installing: Borgeson gear box and intermediate shaft, DOR steering brace / skid plate, new Steering Pump, idler, and tensioner and of course new belt. So some new stuff went in.

After doing all this, drove around the block and felt good. And as per the instructions, went to take it in for an alignment.

The shop didn't want to align it because they said there seemed to be too much play in the track bar where the pushing is. Seemed odd, since I replaced it all last year, but brought it home to take a look.

I've the Skyjacker Adjustable Track Bar and their drop bracket:

When I crawled underneath, I could not move it left or right; however, I did notice I could rotate it easily and that it appeared as if the bushing in the drop bracket was worn.

Anyone have experience with this setup? Anyone willing to tell me whether it's shot already given that it seems possible to rotate it at the bracket?

Considering the cost of the two parts I've be pretty damn annoyed, but at least need to know so I can look at an alternative (perhaps a Thuren track bar, or a conversion kit... just so much damn money!)

InfO.

As you know I have the same setup as you. So no you should not be able to twist the bar. At the frame end they use a cam bolt and cam washer. The washer is not a grade washer and when the nut is tq'd it binds on the bolt not letting you get the right tq on it and making getting it off almost impossible. I added a grade washer over the cam washer to solve this problem and drilled the hole a bit larger in the cam washer.

Take the frame end bushing apart look for wear, if you need a new one I have a spare or two you can have one. With the cam bolt lose the bar will seem very sloppy this is normal.
