I rebuilt transfer case now no 4x4
I had a bearing go out on my 231D transfer case. I removed it, opened case, measured F bearing(16mm), and seen I also needed a synchronizer kit. 1 sync spring was broke and a key in bottom of case. I ordered a rebuild kit, new chain, and sync kit. As I disassembled, I took pictures, and laid out every thing in order that it came out. I followed videos on you-tube to disassemble and reassemble and thought every thing went perfect. Today I got stuck in mud in 2x4, so put in 4x4 and the front tires were not spinning. The shift leaver is moving as it should to go in 4x4 mode but it is not working. What do you think it could be? Its my daily driver and will have to get tag renewed on another vehicle before I even thing about pulling it back out.
Not sure what CAD is.
Just checked vac line and connected and looks good, also 4wd light on dash does come when in 4x4 mode. I found it, it means Center Axle Disconnect.

I found the problem! The bolt that locks the shift leaver to the rod that shifts the transfer case leaver either fell out or broke off allowing it to slide back & forth on that rod. Now to get it fixed before I get stuck in the mud again!
Not broke after all!
