Default Window switch conversion

I was curious if anyone has put the 98 and up window/lock switches in a 97 and older truck. I know the plugs are different but if it's just the pigtail that needs rewired that is an easy change. Just wondering if anything else is required to make the change. If it's to difficult to do it's not worth changing just so I can have the auto down driver window and the light up switches. I work at a salvage yard so donor parts not really an issue, but even I have had problems finding tan leather door panels in good shape.

I have a pair of tan leather door panels that are in decent shape. Out of a 97, I think.... I have no use for them.

I think there are additional wires for the newer switches for the lite-up feature.... grab the 96, and 98 service manuals, and have a look at the wiring diagrams for them. Might be really easy.... might not be.

I was just wondering if anyone else had tried it. I figured I would have to go to the diagrams. I'll keep the door panels in mind I just bought some and they are pretty beat up. Mine are ok just missing the woodgrain trim so I'm going to attempt to put the trim panels off of the ones I bought to mine. Probably be in trouble with the misses if I buy another pair right away.
