Default Engine rebuild

Getting ready to rebuild the 5.9L 360 in my 1998 4X4 2500 short bed extra cab. It is all stock at this point. I have replaced the CAT and muffler. Tranny has been done. I am only looking to rebuild as a daily driver, reliable and best MPG as possible.

Looking for help on buy everything a guy needs to do the job. Best places for the gasket kit, rings, rod and main bearings, etc. I will be upgrading the heads to some EQ's or equivalent. I have done the plenum fix.

I got a whole stock rebuild kit from Northern Auto when I rebuilt my 360. The guys there are nice to deal with and can set you up with whatever brands for parts you want for a kit.

Go to this thread and click on the books I listed. They are all a good read.

Since you are rebuilding your 5.9 engine and adding EQ heads, what about going ahead and stoking the 5.9 to 408? Here is a kit that can help get you there:
