Agreed. My 95 is not subject to emission inspection, however, they do perform a visual check and all factory pollution controls have to be installed to pass. I would suggest the OP find out for sure before just cutting the cat off.

Ok guys update! I gut the cat no more problems. I don't need emissions or care about the inspection rules just need a truck that goes when I punch the gas. Not sure if I will put a muffler on it or a high flow cat but it runs great for now.

Go with a Muffler, if you don't need a cat don't put one on, it will kill performance, it is the number one plug in any exhaust system.
