So I just got me a 2000 dodge 4x4 laremi slt. I haven't had a Chrysler product in a long time. so I can't get t he back seat to come.up .how can you do it manually because the handles don t wotk.also I hear the fuel p ump humming. Where is the fp and where is t he fuel filter. Thx

 

fuel filter is on the top of the fuel pump, the pump is in the gas tank which can only be accessed by dropping the tank underneath or unbolting and jacking up the bed of the truck.

 

Do what! There's not a fuel filter in line somewhere?

 

Nope. There is a 'pre-filter' that is fair sized, by the bottom of the pump module, and there is another in the filter/regulator on top. Apparently, there isn't any particular need to change the filter.... until the pump fails, then you replace the whole thing.

Seems kinda silly to me too.

 

Ok so I have a bottle of Lucas fuel treatment. OK to put in this truck. Also in my cadillac there is an access plate in the trunk to get to the fuel pump. Would it be possible to cut a hole in bed to get to the pump in the truck?

 

Cutting a hole in the bed requires cutting some of the structural supports for the bed floor. Not a good idea. Either drop the tank, or lift the bed.
