Default best replacement cat?

On the way up to school my exhaust started getting really quiet, and it literally had no power, pulled over, let it sit, tried again and still was running really bad. so i took a shot in the dark and disconnected the exhaust right off my shorties, thinking a clogged cat. ran perfectly fine, except a slight loss of power (0 backpressure lol) so I'm going with the cats clogged and what's the best stock replacement? I'm looking to get new 02s as well so input on them would been appreciated. Thanks

I've got the Magnaflow catalytic converter. It replaces your stock Y-Pipe as well (which is very restrictive). I'm happy with mine.

Get NGK O2 sensors, Bosch sensors aren't great on our trucks.

Why is your cat clogged? Is your plenum blown?

Alright I'll take a look at those, honestly i don't think so. It uses as much oil as a normal truck with 150000 miles on it. Maybe a quart or two every oil, plenum plate looks clean

Burning that much oil will destroy your new cat within a year or two. Doesn't do wonderful things for your O2 sensors either.

Well an engine rebuild is out of the question, and the 5mpg i get without the o2s and cat is awful, I'm not sure about the magnaflow either because the driver side down pipe is clamped On... guess i just have to get one and hope i find the oil problem before it burns out.

??? Is this every oil change?

Mine burns more than that and it's fine. Magnaflow cat and NTK 02's been in about a year and a half. In the proses of rebuilding a motor to replace the old one. The Magnaflow cat is a weld on not clamp just a fyi.

Depends on which one you get, and what year your truck is. Did yours have the downpipes from the manifolds?

I ended up getting a flowmaster due to fitment issues with the standard trans on my truck, hopefully the stuff will be here tomorrow, i know running open headers is really bad but i don't have a choice 😄 and yeah it's 1 or two quarts every oilchaing at like 4 thousand miles...or when i can afford it

I'd still be suspect of a plenum issue, unless you're making puddles on the ground.

I'm over 180k and don't use that much.

What I do use can pretty much be found in the catch-can I added.
