For anyone interested, here are two threads that discuss simultaneous high-beam/lob-beam operation. I believe you have to register to view them though.

Ummmm........................I'm gonna tell!!! You used the "F" word!!! (FURD)

It probably would work, but then again, I generally limit my use of relays to power addon lights (off road, etc.) when I want to wire them into the high beams or some such. I used one when I installed my KC Daylighters into the high beam circuit in my Chebby S10. Works great and doesn't cause an overload to the headlamp circut.
Im sorry I do appoligise for using the F**d word, but was just trying to say where I had seen the write up on it. It is what Burning Rom is talking about, using a relay to get full power to your factory lights to make them brighter. Thanks Burning Rom for the link. And I will never use that word again, I feel the shame now[&o]

If you want to control your headlights with relays its easy IF you have some knowage of 12V auto systems. There are web sites that gives infonation on how to do it. I've done it on my 1960 Impala and my 96 Dodge 2500 Diesel.
Try this one to start with: /www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/relays/relays.html but there are many of them. Make sure you use good quality relays like Bosch.
There also are sites that tell you how to wire you headlights so that on hight beam both high and low beam eliments are on, now that makes a differents.
